Bob Kuhn is a Chicago based freelance costume designer, Design Director and founding member of Mortar Theatre. His most recent design credits includes Smokey Joe’s Cafe (Pennsylvania Centre Stage), Dracula (Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre), Inherit The Whole (Mortar Theatre), I Am My Own Wife at The University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign and The Wiz, As You Like It and Word Up! at Penn State University. Shortly, Robert will be designing costumes for Mortar Theatre’s world premier of Under America. Along with his design work, Bob works as a draper with various theatres in Chicago. He has worked with The Chicago Shakespeare Theater building Taming of the Shrew, SS! Comedy of Errors and Richard III, and at Northwestern University on A Midsummer Nights Dream and The Handmaid’s Tale. He has also had the opportunity to work with Emerald City Theatre, Hubbard Street Dance, Deeply Rooted Dance and The Arkansas Rep. Bob holds a MFA in Costume Design from Penn State University and a BA in Studio Art: Ceramics from the University of Central Arkansas.
